Essay Quiz 5

Q Once you have completed all assigned readings, discussions, and other activities, you should be ready to take the quiz. Complete the quiz, which is based on Chapters 11 and 12 of the text. Explain your responses within the context of the case studies incorporating relevant precepts and points found in the text and the other readings or sources in the course to support your answer. The quiz consists of addressing two case studies, in the text, as follows: CASE STUDY # 1: MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL DRUG UNITS – Chapter 11 – pp. 335-337. Case Study Questions: 1. What type of conflict is described in the case study? 2. Multi-jurisdictional drug units are common across the country. What issues should be discussed and by whom before such a unit is created? 3. Suggest ways in which the conflict described in this case study could have been managed more effectively. Should the unit have ever existed? CASE STUDY # 2: THE OLD BOYS DON’T LIKE PLEA BARGAINING – Chapter 12 - pp. 377-378 Case Study Questions: 1. What was the banker’s agenda? Would you have agreed with him if you were a banker? 2. What were the organizational decisions that went into the plea-bargained disposition of the case? 3. If the prosecutor’s budget were doubled, how would this affect the decision-making process for the prosecutor’s office and police decision making? Keep the following in mind when completing this quiz: • Include the question you are responding to immediately before each answer. • When developing your answers remember you must include (cited) facts to support the major points in your response. Your responses should not include continuous citations without your thoughts and analysis, as well. Rather, your responses must reflect a balance between facts and your perspective on the points you make. • Your responses to each of the Case Studies questions should be a minimum of one page (250 words) and a maximum of two pages in length, double-spaced and written in 11-point Arial font or 12-point Times New Roman. Therefore, each Case Study will include at least a three page response to address all the questions in each Case Study. • Include the question you are responding to immediately before each answer. • Include a title/cover page. • Include cited references and format them in the American Psychological Association (APA) writing style (7th edition). • Submit your quiz in one MS Word document and place it in the appropriate assignment drop box for grading.
